Adventurers

Welcome to the Adventurers class page.  

The Adventurers class teacher is Miss Scott.

In Adventurers we have a different theme each half term. On the Curriculum Newsletter links below, you will find details of our Creative Learning Journal (CLJ) themes for each half term as we approach them and discover all the learning we will be covering. 

Once the children are settled into the routines they will start their 'Read Write Inc' (RWI) journey, developing their phonic knowledge and early reading skills. When ready they will bring home a reading book matched to their reading ability, a reading book that links to their RWI story to prompt discussion and a self chosen library book that they can share with you at home. Once the children start bringing home their reading books, please encourage your child to read regularly, and it doesn't matter what they read as long as they enjoy it! Having discussions around what they read will also support their comprehension skills and understanding of new vocabulary.

During the year we will have reading workshops you can attend and please feel free to contact me via the school office if you have any queries about how, what or when to read with your child.

Our Adventurers Week...

• Our PE days will be Tuesday and Friday. PE kits will need to remain in school for the week and will be sent home on Friday to be washed!
• Our Forest school day is a Monday and children will need to bring in suitable long trousers (joggers) and a waterproof when the weather is wet.
• Our library day is a Thursday...please remember to bring your book back each week so that you can change it
• Wellies stay in school so that we can get out and about whatever the weather!
• Water bottles are kept in school.
