Communication

Effective communication with parents is paramount and to ensure we are as effective as possible we ask that all information for staff is sent via the school office office@sixpennyhandley.dorset.sch.uk. This allows us to triage information for the internal systems we have in place. In a small number of cases where a specific need has been highlighted there may be individual communication books for pupils.

For children with SEN the contact details for Mrs Cox (SENDCO) would also be the office.

How we will communicate with parents/carers

Every two weeks we publish a newsletter which outlines key updates and reminders. A copy of these newsletters can be found on the website.

The website has a calendar which is regularly updated and shows key dates across the year e.g. sports day/Christmas productions.

In the Autumn and Summer terms there is an opportunity for parents to discuss their child's progress, and at the end of the spring term each child receives a written report.

At the beginning of the year we have 'Meet the teacher' opportunities as well as some curriculum information evenings - these can be found on the website calendar.

As a small school our office telephone is not manned all the time so please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
